Slowcarb Diet – Week 1

So, in an attempt to fit my pants better, I’ve started a new diet routine consisting of (my interpretation of) the Slowcarb Diet from The 4 Hour Body.
I’ve cut out all sodas during the week (save binge day) and am drinking a lot more water. My starting weight is somewhere in the range of 141 – 144Lbs. My goal is to lose my nascent spare tire, which translates into about 10Lbs. (I’ll consider it done if I can draw my fingers from below my bellybutton to my chest without catching flab). I’m also doing a few minutes of cold exposure before bed and have resolved to exercise at least once a week.

Dinner – 3 Taco supremes from Taco Bell

12/21 09:30

Late breakfast – 2 hard boiled eggs
Lunch – Turkey sandwich innards
Dinner – Beef/Pork, Napa, Spinach Shabu Shabu

12/22 09:30

Late breakfast – 2 hard boiled eggs
Lunch – Horrible Vietnamese chicken
(bag of peanuts)
Dinner – Primerib, veggies, spinach

12/23 09:30

Breakfast – 3 eggs, Sausage Patty, over +fiber Cottage Cheese, Kimchee
Lunch – Super Burrito Bowl
(bag of peanuts)
Dinner – Beef/Pork hot pot, bbq egg sauce, spinach, napa

12/24

(I’ve apparently been using the scale wrong.)
Breakfast – 2 eggs, Sausage Patty, fiber+ cottage cheese, kimchi
Lunch – Steak Fajitas
Dinner – Chicken Salad, Snowpeas, Teriaki Salmon, Pecan Pie & Vanilla Ice Cream (started my binge early)

12/25 – (Binge Day)

Breakfast – Cruller Donut, 1/2 Glazed Donut, Milk
Lunch – Sparkling Apple Cider, Siu Mai, Chicken Salad, Tri-tip, Chinese Stickey Rice, Gailon,  Apple Pie, Lemon Bar, Coffee w/Caramel Bailey’s.
Dinner – Hot & Sour Soup, Mongolian Beef,  Salt & Pepper Pork, Steamed White Rice, Coca-Cola.

12/26

Breakfast –  2 eggs, Sausage Patty, fiber+ cottage cheese, kimchi
Lunch – In’n'out Protein-Style Double Meat w/Cheese
Dinner – Chicken Soba (William Sonoma a la Judy)

First week recap and thoughts:

  • This Omron scale sucks.
  • I don’t feel drastically different.
  • I don’t weigh drastically different.
  • I don’t really look drastically different.
  • Cravings are most difficult immediately after binge day.
